On Friday, July 31st, 2009, a male subject broke out a side window of an Action Heating and Cooling service van, as it sat parked in their O'brien Drive parking lot. Stolen from the vehicle was a nail gun and a bag of hand tools. Total value of the theft and damages is in excess of $500.00. | Between June 19th, 2009 and August 10th, 2009, thieves broke into several cabins at Lake Tansi. Stolen were 9 flat screen televisions, 3 were 42" and 6 were 22" Vizio Flat panel T.V.'s, an Ingersol-Rand Black air compressor as well as various hand tools. | At around 1:25pm on Tuesday, July 14th 2009, Crossville Police received a call of an armed bank robbery that had just occurred at the 1st National Bank branch located on Industrial Boulevard. The caller reported that a white male, approximately 40 - 50 years old, wearing a blue stripped shirt, ball cap, glasses and a mustache, entered the bank with a pistol and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash. The robbery suspect left in an older model white or light colored pick-up truck, possibly a Chevrolet, heading towards Livingston Road on Industrial Boulevard. ***SOLVED*** The photo below is the first available picture of the robbery suspect. | Sometime between Jan. 15 and Jan. 17, 2009, an 1881 $2.50 gold coin was stolen as it hung from a gold necklace around the neck of an elderly woman, who lay dying at a local nursing facility. The coin, valued at over $1000, was found to be missing when family members learned that the owner had passed. It has been reported that the coin, dated 1881, depicted the year the victim's spouse had been born, and that she had worn the necklace every day since her marriage. VEHICLE BURGLARIES |

Over the past few weeks vehicle burglaries have increased. The burglaries involve both locked and unlocked vehicles. The unlocked vehicles are easy prey for thieves looking for a quick payday. The locked vehicles, though fewer and less frequent, have been in parking lots of schools and businesses throughout Crossville. Thieves have been targeting vehicles with valuables left in plain view. (Especially purses) The Crossville Police Department is asking for your help in protecting your property and our community. This suspect vehicle appears to be a Chevrolet Tahoe or GMC Yukon 1999 to 2003 model, Black or Dark Blue in color. This vehicle has been caught on video, with it's occupants, an Africian American male and female, breaking into a locked vehicle. Stolen in the theft was a purse containing cash and cards.
